I'm Not Alone

If you've read some of my early posts, especially this one, you know part of my reason for beginning this blog was my frustration with politics as usual, especially the divisive polarization practiced by both Republicans and Democrats. According to an article in the most recent New York magazine, others share my opinion. Read it, as well as the two associated articles, here and here.

I'm in, but the devils always going to be in the details. How do you make rational arguments to irrational people? Where are the leaders for a third party that aren't so ingrained in the current sytstem as to be useless in creating something new, or so unknown as to be taken as not credible on key domestic and foreign policy issues?

I'd love to believe that a truly liberal-centrist third party could arise in this country, but the way the system is currently rigged, it's a difficult road.
